I just got my sig 516 patrol. Battle comp is highly regarded all over the web as well as highly praised by the few guys I know who use them. This is a 16" barrel, just wondering which would be better. The web site does not list the differences clear enough for my noob self. If anyone could inform me that would be great.

BC 1 was obviously their first version and the BC 2 is compatible with a few suppressors.

Aside from being used with a few suppressors its the same? They do state its the same dimensions, but thats really it? I am trying to decide on one of these or a AAC Blackout

They are the same aside from the 2.0 working with a couple cans.  I use one on my duty carbine.

The 2.0 also has little relief grooves cut. I think mainly for aesthetics.

I got the 2.0 just to be safe.  Who knows when I will want to add another Suppressor to the stable.

The BC 2.0 is exactly the same as the 1.0 except it is able to be used with a few suppressors like the gemtech halo and a few others that attach to the A2 style flash hiders.
and also the BC 2.0 has the same performance as the 1.0.

Per BC, the 'flutes' that are cut into the 2.0 are there to alleveate pressure and disapate heat when using a can. Other then that (and I think there might be another groove at the rear to accomadate certain cans), it functions the same as the 1.0.
