I have a Colt 6920 iv been thinking about buying a Lan-Cay M9 bayonet to stick on the end of it for the novelty and have an excuse to have a companion for my Kabar. Anyone know of the cheapest place to get one? or got any pics of them mounted on a Carbine most of the pics i see are mounted on 20" rifles.

The bayonet won't sit properly on your 6920 because of the 16" barrel on the carbine-length gas system. Basically, it won't lock on the FH and will rattle around on the barrel behind it.

If you want to run a bayonet, you basically have 5 options, 3 of which involve getting new uppers:
(1) get a 14.5" upper with carbine gas system
(2) get a 16" middy upper
(3) get a 20" rifle upper
(4) find a bayonet that has an extended handle to work on 16" carbine-gas rifles (these are hard to find and cost about $250)
(5) get a bayo lug extender that attaches to your existing bayo lug but has an extension to make it fit properly (I think this is made by CMMG)

I hope that helps.
