Since the EOTech is essentially tubeless and since it is Holographic and you look through the optic at what you are shooting rather than at the display or at the glass, what is the point of mounting the unit forward over the chamber when could could put it on the receiver and have a better balanced weapon?  Of course, it you are trying to Co-Witness w/  a fixed carry handle gun you have to do it like that, but otherwise I don't get it.

Some people like a front heavy weapon.  I've tried it.  I liked the way the reticle was floating far in front of my face.  Made close work very fast.

I don't understand how it make a difference to your eyes.  if you are looking at something out past arms length you will get the double vision effect anyway.

I have never heard of people liking a front heavy weapon, at least not for a battle rifle/carbine type gun.

I do understand that if you want to mount a rear NV monocular behind the optic, you will have to move it forward and that will change your POI slightly so you may want to leave it forward.
