I was wondering if anyone has heard of Bering Optics. I was searching for a descent red dot for my rifle and they came up. I found a 2.5x32 for around $200 but wasn't sure about the company. I am a black gun noob but I have caught the bug and want to make it a little more accurate than open sights. Any input is appreciated.

I am a purely recreational shooter . It would be mounted on a Colt 6920.

Looks almost exactly like the Burris AR-332 Prism Sight only without the rails and a slightly different reticle. Maybe made by the same chinese manufacturer.

I see one here for $175

I believe you are right. I looked at both scopes and they are very similar. What is a good starter scope ? Bushnell, burris,NCstar ? Looking for something with low magnification(2-3) ,but reliable.  I really want an EOTECH but that isn't happening anytime soon.

In your price range two scopes come to mine Vortex Strikefire and Primary Arms scopes or red dots. I have both and have been pleased. Primary Arms has fast shipping and are good people they carry Vortex scopes and RD's.
