If you were looking for an Ar to play with at the range what would be the best gun to get.  I am considering building but also looking to possible buy a new ar to shoot at the range.  Does anybody have any suggestions on brands.  I am thinking Smith and wesson or possibly bushmaster.

Thanks

Daniel Defense complete rifle or a quality lower with a BCM upper.

S&W and Bushy are fine also, just not my first choices.

BCM upper with Spikes or Essential Arms lower. You wont regret it.

With the cost of ammo I would look into a 22lr upper.

Id be looking at something with a high end stainless barrel if its just for shooting small groups at the range.  Look at the Noveske rifles for complete rifles or the Larue complete rifles or any other high end complete gun that is similar with a good stainless barrel.

colt hasnt been doing too well these days. I would go with a larue first. noveske 2nd or a BCM 3rd. they also cost in that order too.

for range fun in the sun, Stag. Cost effective, yet quality. Or Spikes, I am thinking about getting a stripped lower and building up over the next year.
