From an accuracy standpoint what is the best complete 204 upper made?

Sabre?

D-Tech?

LMT?  Do they make one?

Who?

Please tell me, I want to order one.

Thanks.

Depends on who you want to go with, Randall Rouche of ar15barrels.com makes a premium upper, but hes all custom and is backlogged I am sure.

Clark Custom out of Fla does 204 uppers and rifles, so does Les Baer I believe. Both reputable for accuracy.

I THINK DPMS offers a 204 but Id have to double check, yep there do www.dpmsinc.com/firearms/firearm.aspx?id=1, LMT DOES NOT to my knowldge.

There are a  few more who do, and of course the custom guys will do one for you, the price is the limit really.

How about Accuracy Systems?  I'm pretty sure they make a .204 Ruger upper/rifle as well...

EDIT - Yep, they sure do.  Guarantee 1/2 MOA for most of the setups as well.

EDIT2 - ER Shaw makes uppers as well.

if you are wanting a 20 cal ar why not try the 20 Tactical it is a 223 case necked down to a 20 cal no need to pay high prices for the 204 brass and i think that it shoots faster

Accuracy Systems seems to make one heck of a product.....  Anyone on here have direct experience with them?

Yeah, Accuracy systems put a .223 varmint barrel on an old mini-14 of mine.  It's as accurate as they claimed it would be, easily.

Thanks.

LMT makes a 204 barrel for their MRP system. I've not seen a full upper from them in 204 however. I have the MRP 5.56 and 6.8SPC and have thought about getting a 204 barrel as well.

Man there are a lot of choices out there.  Initially I was goig to just buy an upper and swap it on my Sabre Defence SPR but now I think I am gong to just build an entire gun.

I called Noveske today and they said they do build .204 barrels and uppers (not on web site and is a "custom" product).  They are going to shoot me a price on a 1:10 twist 204 upper as well as a price on a full custom Noveske 204 rifle.  Can't wait to see that price.

What would be a good lower to start with? (leaning toward LMT Defender w/ SOPMOD and 2 stage) I am going to be off work for three months for some surgery and I am thinking about doing two seperate build projects;

first one being a 204 that I will most likely buy a complete lower and a complete upper, I know, not much to assymble right...   this one will be high(er) end

second I think I will tackle a complete build and buy a quality stripped lower and put it all together.  Not sure what I want this one to be though as I have a Sabre Defence SPR, and I'll have the quality 204 done.  Maybe a short barreled 6.8SPC carbine?

Sorry I am babbling but I am going to need a couple of projects while I am off so I need to start collecting parts.

I may start a new "ametuer 1st build surgery thread"

On this 204 upper I think I am down to;

Accuracy Systems - ASI match $1179
Noveske - $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
White Oak - Around $800
Sabre Defence - $711 from Jenson Arms

Does that about sum up the good choices that I have?

How about an Anvil Arms lower (or the Spike's GB that is opening up sometime soon, I think)?  Not like you can go wrong with those folks...

As the owner of 2 Noveske barrels, if Jon is considering it, ID go with him, funds allowing of course.

I didnt know LMT made a barrel in 204, I knew they didnt do a complete upper but good to know on the barrel! I bet its very accurate as well.

He already has a few 204 barrels made, we are just fine tuning the tube handgurad details etc.  They were supposed to call back yesterday but did not. Their customer service could be better.....

Noveske .204 upper w/ 24" 1:10 twist bull barrel is ordered and should be on the way next week.  Now for the lower.....

I am thinking LMT defender with SOPMOD and two stage trigger.

He quoted me a full rifle but I can build it with an LMT a few hundred cheaper.

Cool - I'm pumped.

I can have the gun built and done minus optics with the LMT lower for $1500, $1775 gets me the complete Noveske rifle.

What to do.....

Make sure to get us pics when you have it.  That way I can justify to my wife why I need to spend another $1,800~ish on a gun...
