I'm looking for a 3 lb or less trigger for a new lower I built.  I'd like one with less a 3 lb or less trigger pull, single stage.  I have a Timney 4 lb, which I love, but I'd like to know of any other options.  Thanks.

I just got a Jard from Brownells for ~$115.  Haven't tried it yet, I'll be installing it as soon as I get home.

Not sure if it's the best, but Bill Springfield will do a 3# trigger job on your factory trigger group for about $50.

Take a look at White Oak Armament's tuned version of the RR NM two stage.  They can set it at 3 pounds if you want.  I have over a dozen of them all set at 3.5 pounds and will not use any other trigger.  Every one of them breaks right at 3.5 pounds and it doesn't matter if it is in my rifles, carbines, ARs, or LRs, they all feel the same, which is perfect.  And at $120 you have plenty of money left over for ammo.

I have an adjustable Timney, set at 3lbs, in a Remington .308 and I like it alot.  I just installed a JP 3.5lb trigger kit, which can be adjusted lower, in a Spikes lower.  Zero creep, breaks like glass and resets incredibly short and fast.  I haven't had a chance to live fire, but I'm sure it's going to be a winner.  About $70.00 less expensive than Timney and because I took my time with the install, I now have a through understanding of the AR trigger system and each component.

I have Jard 2# adjustables in a 6.5 Grendel and DPMS LR-308 (weighted hammer model), put a 3# adjustable in a lower for my cousin, and I have 3# non-adjustables in two other ARs. They're the only triggers I'm ever buying from now on... Ordering another today to try in a 9mm AR I'm building.

+++  1000

I just got my 3 Lb trigger back from Bill Springfield and it is way better than I could of hoped for.

Just send your LPK trigger to Bill with 50 bucks and in a week you will have a fantastic trigger and you will save 150 bucks to boot.

This trigger breaks like a glass rod. Its VERY sweet.  Bill will get all my work from now on.  I now have no need for a 200 dollar trigger as long as Bill is around. I love my trigger.

Best of luck

Brian

Piece of sand paper is much cheaper...
If you use 1500- 2000 grit it is almost impossible to screw up trigger. I improved my kit 1911 trigger from 10 to 3 lb., used scale from Wallmart for $6. Never did AR-15 so ask smart guys here.
I would say 30 min. job, 1 hour for beginner. It is actually 10 min job, rest of time will be spent for installing/ removing.
