This is my first post, and I apologize in advance if this has been covered before. I did a search and wasn't able to find anything. I recently purchased a Noveske Afghan and am looking for a bore guide. I tried Mike Lucas, but he doesn't make guides for Noveske rifles. What brand of bore guide do you folks consider "the best"? Thanks for the help!

I am not really sure what the "Best" is, but you might give this one a look...

I like Sinclair's the best, but Dewey makes excellent products, too.
I like Dewey cleaning rods the best.
There's no need to over engineer this thing.  $60.00 for a bore guide is a complete waste of money.  The Sinclair or the Dewey will run in the vicinity of $20.00.

ETA: If you really want to set him up, get him a Sinclair bore guide, a Dewey nylon coated cleaning rod and a Sinclair cleaning link.  You can buy all of those and still not spend $60.00.

My bad...

He didn't ask for the most cost effective bore guide... Nor did he give any sort of price range.

I like Dewey products and found their AR-15 bore guide inexpensive and of good quality.  Their chamber guide is also tops on my list.

xkaper,

Your info was helpful! It gave me an idea of what I may have to spend. Thanks!

mauiblue,

Thanks for the reply! I bought the Dewey coated rod, but didn't really look at their bore guide. I will have to take a look at them.

sinclair makes one of them specifically for the ar15, ar10 and others.  top notch quality and will last forever.  I have them for my ar15, ar10 and the ar10 in .243.  RG

I also like my JP bore guide. It was like $40 or something from Brownell's, but it's machined from aircraft grade aluminum, o-ringed and anodized all nice and purrrrty! It probably is overkill, but so is most everything else I do.

+1 on the JP. It works great and looks cool too. Plus my department's armorers recommend the JP.
