| What is the best accessory for the money, for an AR Rifle. Dont say mags and ammo please. |
|
Depends upon intended use. If you are using it for home defense, a light is the best purchase. A sling is not that useful inside your home. If you are using it for SHTF, then a sling is number one. If you are using it for stationary, supported P-dog hunting, then an optic and bi-pod are absolutely necessary. A sling is not useful. If you are using it for mobile P-dog hunting, then a sling is helpful along with the above. Etc., etc., etc. Without knowing what you want to use it for the original question is virtually meaningless. |

It really depends on what kind of rifle setup you have and what is your main use for it. It's really hard to say what accessory would work for you without any info of your needs. If it's just a range toy, I would consider painting it if you just want to customize it. Take a look at the refinishing forum and some of the picture threads to get some ideas going. www.ar15.com/forums/forum.html?b=6&f=19 |

A light. Everything else is just "gravy" AR's come standard with: Handles, buttstocks, forearms, sights, etc. All that garbage you hang off them is just the same thing "only nicer". Every combat gun should come with a light. Everything after that is just "go fast" stuff. Don't get me wrong, I put plenty of "go fast" stuff on my guns, but first and foremost all guns should have a light. |

Optics was my first accessory I wanted for my first AR-15 (Trijicon TA47-6). The next accessory was a sling. The last two items was a VFG and a weapon light. That was all I needed to call my RRA Entry Tactical complete. A runner up accessory I got for my Bushmaster was a Magpul CTR stock. |
| I have a standard sling on my Armalite, its a M15A2(OD Green). Everything is stock on the rifle. 10 years ago I owned a Colt AR,so I am familiar with the gun and shooting it. I kept the Colt stock. I see all this stuff hanging off ARs now. I was wandering what what was worthy and useful. I thought of an optic but have no idea what would work best on a 20 inch AR with carry handle ? I still want to be able to use the iron sights. This rifle will be mainly kept for SHTF and some target shooting to keep my skills up. |
