I'm looking to put a light on my AR-15. It'll probably go in a viking tactics mount. I'm looking around 80$ or less I just want a good durable light that's bright. i was looking at the surefire G2 LED. So I just want to get yall's input before I do anything. Any lights y'all recommend?
Thanks in advance.

In addition to Surefires, I like Pentagon lights if you can find them.

I use a Fenix E21 with a cheap set of walmart scope rigs to mount it. It beats the hell out of my buddies surefire any day and has a bright and a dim setting. Just my 2 cents.

I was also using a Fenix TK11(I think) in an elzetta mount. Total around your price range.

The E21 is a nice AA light. I gave out a bunch of the limited edition Neutral White lights last year for Christmas. Nice and simple user interface, high and medium.

How long does the full brightness last on that thing? Etc. And is it holding up pretty well?

I use an Inova T1 with a 1" scope ring.  Works great and very cheap. Has a button in the rear.  Looks decent too.  I think the light is around $50

Have a look at the new Surefire G2X.  It's amazingly bright and you can find them for a good price if you look around a bit.

Also check ebay for actual Surefire weapon lights.  I picked up an M961 for less than $150 NIW.

I thought the TK11 was replaced by the TK15? Or was it the TK21?

There are more than one version of the TK11 out there.

My Dad has 3 Fenix E21 lights.  One on an SKS, one on an AR, and one on his duty belt.  He's been a Deputy Sheriff for 15+ years now, he sold his 2 Streamlight Stingers off.

I have one E21 which is mounted on my MAK-90 and plan to get another one for EDC.

I like the E21 over the other lights because of it's simplicity.  High low cliky tail cap and that's it. And the tailcap doesn't control power output you have to twist the head.

Look into JETBeam. I have been reading up and looking at them on YouTube.

They look pretty well made and will light up what you want to see (100 to 650 Lumens for the BC25). They run around the $65 to $70 mark.

Just a though.

Thank you for all the reply's guys ! It's really narrowed down my search a lot. I think I might go with the fenix TK11 now. I've read a lot of good reviews about it online.

It is a solid choice. You will have to remove the grip ring.

just going to put a plug in for looking the boards/craigslist and finding dedicated surefire weapon lights for cheap. You can quite often find m951's for cheap. I picked on up NIB for $100, came with a body extension, a HUGE extra head, multiple bulbs, the dual input tail cap, and two different length pressure pads. Oh and batteries and locktite

I have an Olight Warrior mounted on my Rock River Operator. I'll never use any other light.
Order from bearcreektacticalgear.com and he offers lifetime warranty on the lights he sells.

Sorry, my mistake on the warranty.  Here's the Olight warranty (from their site):

"OlightTM warrants its products to be free from defects in materials and workmanship. Within 30 days after receipt, any defective lights will be offered free replacement by OlightTM distributors unconditionally. OlightTM will repair or replace, at its option and without charge, any product or part which is found to be defective under normal use and service within 24 months counting from the date of purchasing with proof of purchase. Such repair or replacement shall be the purchaser sole and exclusive remedy under this warranty. This warranty does not cover normal maintenance and service and does not apply to any products or parts which have been subject to modification, misuse, negligence, accident, improper maintenance or repair by anyone other than OlightTM.

As to those exceed 24 months of the purchase date, Olight will still provide with warranty service. Labor is free but cost of parts will be charged. Freight should be paid by customers."

FWIW, I have no affiliation with Battery Junction.  I've just received good deals through them.

Scope rings.  On my rifle its mounted to my railed forarm on my dad's rifle its mounted to a section of MAGPUL rail that is drilled and attached to his carbine hardguards.

I got a NIB surefire M961 off ebay for 135 shipped. As much as I like PA stuff, Why buy a china knock off when you can have the real thing for not that much more? There are tons of these things on the market right now since we are bringing alot of the troops home. I would strike while the getting is good. The smaller 6P based M951 can be had for around 100 NIB with a little looking.

Best cheap light? How about a Surefire G2? Cheap, reliable, and effective. Mount it with a 1" scope ring.
