I got a free FastFire 3 when I bought a Burris AR-332 last year. I'd like to put it on a mount to use with an AR, what's the best way to do this?

QD would be nice, but not absolutely necessary. I am thinking this may go on a lightweight build.

Thanks.

Any type of rise or just a low mount? Another option is a piggyback or 45 degree mount if you decide to use it on a scoped rifle.

I'd like 1/3rd co-witness or there abouts. It is currently piggybacked on the AR-332 and that is a bit high. I just got my first form 1 for an SBR and I thought this would be fun to put on a lightweight 11.5" gun to see if I like it.

Might go go for a Deltapoint Pro if I do. As I understand it, mounting options are scarce for it too.

I use an ADM mount for my RMR on a PDW build.  I believe ADM makes a similar mount for the Burris. Comes in lower 1/3rd and absolute.

I have both the FF3 and Deltapoint Pro.  I ran the FF3 for several years before moving to the DPP.  It is true that ADM makes QD mounts that work for each.  The issue is riser height.

I'll look up what I did on FF3 and come back with another post, perhaps with some photos.

I can tell you now about how to mount the Deltapoint Pro.  I run it absolute, but can show you both options.

For absolute, I use the ADM AD-TR base.  I use Leupold's riser on that base and the optic on top.  The riser must be slightly modified by drilling two shallow holes in the bottom of the riser.  They are non critical in diameter, just as long as they are large enough to capture the locator pins on the top of the AD-TR.  The pins are the correct pattern for the DPP, but Leupold only put two of the four holes on the bottom of their riser to force you to use their own mount. The other two diagonal pins will recess correctly, so they orient and index the mount and riser correctly.

Here are photos of the setup and the modification.  Drilling the two shallow holes takes two minutes in a padded vise and hand drill, although I used a drill press.

This produces absolute cowitness.

Or use ADM's AD-SF Picatinny base, which is .480" high.

You simply put the DPP on its own separately sold (but expensive) Cross Slot Mount, which has a Picatinny attachment and put it on that base.

Lower 1/3 (closer to lower 1/4) uses the Cross Slot with ADM's higher AD-170 VPG 3 slot Picatinny base.  That base is .600" tall, bringing up 1/8" higher.  It ends up looking like this.  I have raised the rear sight to help you see the height.  I prefer absolute with this optic, but this will get you lower 1/3, if you prefer.

Now, the Fastfire 3.

ADM makes a special mount for it.  It has a different base pattern than Deltapoint mounts are not interchangeable.

You want the AD-22.  There is a riser, the AD-22-10 for it, but it is absolute.  I don't know is ADM still makes the  lower 1/3 version.  see below.  Here is the absolute combo.

You could also use Burris' own cross slot mount on top of the AD-170-VPG, but that only gets you absolute, too. That was how I ran mine as pictured below.  I did not seek a lower 1/3 option, so I can offer no true option there.  ADM used to make a higher riser, the AD-22-11 for lower 1/3 with the AD-22.  It may be out of production.  Check with them.

ADM shows the AD-22-11 as not in stock.  It may be discontinued.  Here is their photo of the combo.

If you don't need true QD, then mounting either the FF3 or DPP should be ridiculously easy, although I've only done this with other red dots of the same height. You should be able to just use the FF3's Picatinny mount with the FF3 or the DPP's Cross Slot mount with the DPP, and put either on the cheap UTG medium mount for absolute cowitness or UTG's high for lower 1/3.  But, you really need to leave those mounts on the rifle, as they are made with soft screws and soft mount threads that stretch easily, are easily stripped.  They don't really hold zero reliably except for very close HD type purposes.

I hope all of this was of some help.  Mini reflex sights are a great option for primary sights on ARs, not just secondary to scopes.
