I am looking for opinions on the best handguards / foregrips for a M4.  I am looking for bomb-proof, comfort, and bad ass looks -- in that order.  I like the idea of the rails but I only want to mount a Surefire M962 (most of the rails would be covered).  Any thoughts, suggestions, pics?

Free Float or 2-Piece?

read this or/and make a search in the forum...look for Knight's Armament, Midwest Industries, YHM, Surefire, LaRue, Troy Ind., Daniel Defense, ARMS, etc.

same for the foregrips: look for Tango Down, KAC, etc.

Don“t want to hijack this thread, but I got a similar question:

What are the best handguards  ...

>>>>for a 16" Middy!?!? <<<<

I dont want anything to hang onto it, I only want them GREEN, and I like the looks of the slimmer ones MUCH better than the thick ( M 4 ? ) ones ...

but which are top quality and insulating as much as possible ( while not frying the barrel )?

RRA? Cav arms? ( Colt - no idea how and where to get them. Middy?? ) Armalite?

Thanks in advance and apologies to thread starter.

I believe RRA, Armalite, and CavArms all make green mid-length HGs.  My (black) RRA ones are about the same size/shape as regular A2 HGs, which I think makes them a little thicker than the normal CAR-lenght ones.  They have single heat shields just like standard A2 HGs.  I assume Armalite gets theirs from the same source.  CavArms makes the standard shape and also the bigger oval/"M4" shaped ones with no taper.  I've heard the CavArms ones hold up to heat very well, but I don't know how they compare for "insulating" your hand against the heat.  I think they have single heatshields like the others.
