Tried to search this topic with no luck... How about Stag ? What do you guys think ?? Thanks |

Hey man, posed this a couple weeks ago... here's a link In addition I received a couple IM's from left-handed shooters supporting the idea. It was enough to sell me, I'm picking up my 2TL on Monday. |
| Nnot avail;able just yet, but the upcoming Knights SR15 E3 carbines will have the best ambi controls I have ever seen. Mag releases and bolt catch/release on both sides of the gun (much better than what you may have already seen). It doesnt eject to the left, but I belive better ambi controls would be more useful than a gun that ejects from the left. |
I think Stag's idea of putting the port on the other side is the better one, for the same reasons designers put the port on the right (for right-handed shooters) in the first place. You could always put a Stag upper on a Knight's lower.... |
I agree.. I'm a lefty and shooting a right-handed (normal) AR isn't really a big deal. You just have to get used to it. Now maybe if I was using it in the field or on the front lines, that would be a different story.. I might try to flip the safety selector, though - I know there's an ambi- version, but can't you just flip it instead?? |
Yeah, because no right hander has ever gotten injured from a catastrophic failure If you live in fear of the kaboom, take up a different hobby. Or buy a car with the driver seat on the right since you will be less likely to die in a head on..Lefty uppers require proprietary parts which is unacceptable to me. YMMV. I am southpaw and shoot normal uppers no prob. The only thing you really need is the brass deflector. I add ambi selectors and norgon ambi mag releases to most of my lowers, and ambi charging handles on the uppers. IMO the ambi charging handle is the most important mod to have as a lefty so that you can easily run the charging handle weak hand. None of these mods (with the possible exception of the charging handle) are really needed however. With some proper instruction/practice you can run a righty AR with no mods perfectly well. In fact lefties have some advantages to shooting RH ARs, we can activate the bolt release/bolt hold open with the trigger finger and can do visual check of the ejection port w/o rolling the weapon. |
Hey new-arguy, whats the latest on delivery dates? I like the lefty Stag, but I had to admit I liked the ambi controls of this thing. TIA. P.S., didnt mean to highjack, but seems related.
