Looking for any input regarding the best single point sling adapters.  I'd like to go with a slip over so I don't have to take apart the stock but are there drawbacks to that type of adapter?  I have an inclination to just fashion one out of paracord (I've seen some youtube videos on these makeshift sling adapters).

Any input from operators in the military who could give some field knowledge and experience to this topic would be helpful (thank you for your service).

If you aren't using a QD attachment then just make one out of 550 cord.

Midwest Industries makes a good one that slips over the buffer tube (used it for a deployment with zero issues). Troy makes one that I own and have had zero issues from (bought before the Troy shenanigans), and there's a Tango Down one that actually gives you three QD attachment location options. Also GG&G makes one that they market as the agency sling adapter. I've never used the GG&G one but I have a few other of their products and they are high quality.

Welcome to the site!

ETA- Daniel Defense makes one as well. I haven't used it but DD makes quality equipment.

I'm sorry, but what is a QD attachment?  I tried googling "AR QD attachment" but nothing came up.

The two slings in the right have a QD attachment. You just press the metal button in the middle and the metal ring can fit securely into the hole on the mount. Even if you don't have a sling with a built in QD mount you can use a QD D ring to go into the hole on the attachment and attach the sling to the ring like this

I think the first question is, what sling do you have and what attachment method does it use?

QD = quick detach. It's a socket that you plug a sling swivel into.

ETA: See here for an example.
