What's the best drop in trigger group on the market sub $200?

Would you take one over the standard GI group?

I've used the RRA 2 stage a couple of times and liked it a lot, especially considering the price.  But...I've heard a nasty rumor that as it wears it turns into a single stage trigger?  Is there any truth to that or where the people saying this full of shit?

I have one that has a documented 5200+ rounds, and it still works well.

I like my Lmt 2 stage, I might try one of those new Geissele SSA Triggers though when they come out.

I'd like to know about DROP-IN trigger groups too.  As in modular units that "drop-in".

I have a Stoner (KAC) M4 rifle that came with the factory two stage trigger.  It once went out of adjustment and failed to function.  One of the set screws backed out.

I am thinking of a "DROP-IN" modular trigger group for my next build.  I'll be building a take-down small as possible with a 16 inch barrel on a MGI QCB upper.

I think by drop in he means a Chip Mcormic or a Timney . any way I have an RRA and a Timney and I like the Timney much better .

I have been hearing from well informed sources some very good things about the Timney Single Stage trigger group, and am considering buying one based on the success I had with their Bolt Gun triggers. One I had was adjustable to "2 OUNCES".

The single stage is $200.00

Anyway, I prefer a single stage trigger on a defense piece. There are less moving parts, and things that can come "Undone". If I was shooting varmints or other "Non-Lethal" targets, I would go with a 2 stage.

at my old job I installed a fair amount of everybodies triggers but the RRA was one of   simplest to install and yields decent results

really depends on what you are doing with your rifle

there are better lighter  target triggers out there but if the rifle is going to see quite a bit of use and you not want to have to tinker with the trigger periodically I would go with the RRA

Yep this is what I was wondering.  Thanks for your info on the Timney.

A Timney runs what, $195.00? I need to get one of these to see what the big deal about them is. I like my RRA and never thought that it was hard to install but the Timney I guess is supposed to be the best thing running.

Geissele.

I have Geissele (DMR) and a RR. The RR is an improvement over the stock trigger, but the Geissele is very good. Just placed an order for another Geissele 2-stage (DMR) and one of their new 2-stages (ADCO). We'll see how the new one compares.

I think that would be the trigger I bought if I was going to spend a lot of money on one.

I'm poor, so I just stone & polish the stock triggers...works as a drop-in for me.

Stoning and polishing requires more skill than I have.

Maybe right now it might, but, if you were to get a set or two out that you pulled to install those drop-in triggers, you could get pretty good with some practice. That's how I learned - trial & error.

Heh. That is exactly what I am doing.  Going to take my time at it, see how it goes.
