Got a new Aimpoint M2 on the way for my Bushy M4A2.  I have the ARMS #39A2 gooseneck mount, and am going to forward mount the sight so I can co-witness with my irons. What is my best option for a quick release ring ount for the Aimpoint? I am thinking the ARMS, but wanted you guys' advice.  Thanks!!

The ARMS is not quick release.

The Aimpoint Quick Release mount is -- you guess it -- quick release.  And is what's issued with these sights in the Army,

Either mount will work.  ARMS lever mounts gives up quick release for a bit less bulk.

I use and highly recommend the Aimpount QR mount on the #39A2Plus rail on my old M4.  Email me is you want a photo, I've no clue how to put one here.

Yeah...the last time I tried the ARMS throw-lever, it was slow as molasses...[rolleyes]

I must be confused, I always thought that I could pull a lever faster than turning a thumb nut. One thing I do know is that #22M68 rings are in sevice and preferred over turning any thunb nut.

The term "quick release" wan't defined by using a stopwatch gents.  It generally refers to a fairly quickly removed mount with no need of ant tools.

The 22M68 is an exceptional mount, with great return-to-zero performance.  So what if it takes 4-5 seconds to remove the mount?  I'd certainly call that quick release.

Just for the record, my response was accompanied by a fair amount of sarcasm if the animated icon didn't get the point across.  The #22M68 would be far and away my first choise if quick release and repeat zero were my top priorities.

My #22/M68 is very tight, in return it takes a lot of force to get the lever moving, but it is still faster then turning the thumbscrew on the Aimpoint mount.

Damn, April Fool's is 3 days away Chuck!

Both the Aimpoint QR and #22M68 are plenty fast. Overall, there's maybe one second difference between both of them.

I like the #22M68 because there's no knob jutting out on the left hand side of the rifle.

I would go with the ARMS #22M68 over the Aimpoint QRP. I sell and use both of these mounts and personally think the QRP is a POS...

I went with the Aimpoint QRP w/spacer, served me well and i didnt exactly baby my M4.

Repeatedly taken off and mounted again over a period of time, kept zero.

Was to me at the time the fastest option to get, if id live in the U.S. i might have opted for something else but the Aimpoint mount gets to complaints from me.

Thanks for all the info guys. Seems like both the Aimpoint QRP and the ARMS mount have their qualities. I am gonna see if I can find two examples to look at up close this week.
