| I am building my first rifle and I want to know what the best possible barreled upper would be. I am thinking about splurging on the daniel defense but I don't want to do anything compulsively. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I would like a 15' rail on it so any suggestions on brands or the best sites to get them would be great. |
| BCM would be a little more with a free float rail but for a standard barrel not by much that or DD wich may be more would be great choices. If you build the upper wich I never have you could make a nice one with all the options but if i did i would end up with a 1000+ dollar upper probally. |

You haven't given any details on what your looking to use it for. Might give us a hint... hunting (if so what game), range toy, etc. Barrel length, barrel weight, bullet weight, etc
If your looking for accuracy, one of these would do nicely. WOA Pushing your price limit slightly though. |

Yeah, "Best possible" for what??
Shooting 1 moa out to 1000 yards?? Target shooting to 100 yards and sitting in the safe 95% of it's life?? Hard charging full auto CQB and must function in worst possible conditions?? The best deal on 4150 chrome lined barreled uppers is still Palmetto State Armory when they are in stock. |
| I just ordered a spikes upper from aim surplus for 499.00 I've heard good things about them so I thought I'd try one out. My other AR upper is an aero precision upper witha 16" BCM mid length barrel, YMFG bcg and a MW Industry quad raiI bought the parts a little bit at a time with that one it cost more than the spikes but less than 600. |
| I think AIM still has some Daniel Defense uppers for $660. If I was really trying to hold it under $600. AIM has some 16" mid length barrels for a little over $100 plus one of the AIM nitride bcg for $100 . Add a blem Anderson or PSA upper with build kit for $65ish and whatever rail you want. |
