Ok so today I was at the shooting range running some ammo through my AR-15. I shot my new P-mags with no problems. Then I loaded up my Beta-C mag and was shooting with no problems as usual. And then I thought I ran out of ammo since I had been shooting the drum mag for a while and couldn’t see any more bullets through the back cover. But then I look and see my gun had jammed. First time my gun has ever jammed with the beta-c mag and I run it though my M-16 mostly. So I take out the magazine and clear the jam and then I noticed there is zero spring pressure on the rounds. So I flip the magazine over and the ammo just dumps out along with the dummy rounds that aren’t supposed to come out. I also noticed there are live rounds still mixed up with some other dummy rounds stuck in the magazine I can see though the clear back cover. It did shoot almost all of the 100rds though with no problems which caught me off guard. All I can think what happened was that somehow the live rounds got jammed up with some dummy rounds. It was fully loaded and bouncing around the trunk of my car, so I can see if something might have messed it up on the drive to the shooting range. I should be able to fix it I think, I’ll check it out later on tonight, and if not I’ll be back asking for help. But I can see now that this can’t handle my abuse. Just thought I would share my story since I’ve never heard of this ever happening. Anyone else ever experience something like this?

I have a pair of them that have had about 1500  rds ran through them and so far, no problems. It sounds like the mechanism controlling the feed has gone south on you. Very unusual...

I had a similar problem.  The dummy links got misaligned after a fall; only a few dozen rounds were fired; many rounds were left not even touched.  I had to open the C-Mag up to recover the live rounds.

Have you ever lubed it?

After the very first time I used it.

should be done with each loading. The one time I forgot to lube mine I had the same problem. After I fixed the problem and relubed the problem went away.

That is one of the reasons the C-mag is no good for combat but perfect for range run

Sorry to be the one to tell you this but NO problems with beta after much shooting is the exception not the rule.

Ok i took it apart and lubed it up and put it back together. Looks like it is good to go again. But yeah it was just strange. I think from now on i'm going to load it up only at the range. Also lube might have been one of the problems since I haven't lubed it for a while. So i'll have to make sure i lube it after each range session as well. I also lubed up my 9mm beta-c drum as well while i was at it. I'll have to hit the range again soon. Also does Beta sell spare parts if something breaks?

They sell 'some' spare parts, but if anything major (springs, follower arms, sprockets, etc..) breaks, they (BetaCo) will fix it for you.
