Before i buy do these things really work as good as a regualar Bi-Pod? I know theres high & low end types but just asking generally if this is a good alternative to a FG & a Bi-Pod

I have a GPS-01. It's an early made military contract aluminum piece. The legs deploy like greased lightning and can be manually secured back into the grip pod body in about 2 seconds. The GPS-01 weighs much less than the combined weight of a conventional bi-pod, bi-pod adapter and a VFG. The newer GPS-02 Poly model weighs less than the aluminum brother. As stated, a Harris bi-pod will most likely need to be "adapted" to an AR rail and/or M4 type handguard with separate components., at an extra price. Depending on the adapter, one can add about 20-100 bucks to the bi-pod assembly. Additionally, if the AR has a short rail/handguard, a conventional bi-pod engaged to the AR will automatically position a separate VFG closer to the mag well limiting the amount of space left for proper/comfortable VFG positioning. The Grip Pod eliminates all these problems. Needles to say, I'm extremely happy and impressed with mine. Just my Two Copper Lincolns....

| Aside from the extra cost and weight, why add more complexity with multiple components if you don't have to. Reports I've heard from LAPD patrol rifle recertification classes suggest that they work very well as a prone support, but I don't have any personal experience with one. Accessory funds being limited and all I usually lay my rifle accross my backpack when I shoot prone, and only occasionally use a borrowed harris on my bolt gun. |
I’m so glad I went with the Grip Pod the grip has an excellent feel and having the convince of a bi-pod all in one is great. I was unsure of the quality but the website was impressive. I overall think this is a perfect grip for someone who doesn’t need a fulltime Bi-pod but its there to fine sight your gun in or for precision shooting. I highly recommend it even though its $150. It’s well worth it
