I just bought a Larue handguard and now I am trying to figure out the best way to attach my Harris bipod. Any recomendations? I was looking at the YHM adapter

why not the Larue bipod adapter to go with your new rail?

I second the LaRue adapter.  It's what I use.

+1

I used a Oly arms one similar to the yhm and it left set screw marks on my new rail. Not to mention it wasnt quick attach so I had to lunch around the big adapter even when it wasnt in use.

My larue is easy on easy off

What is the benefit of the $80 Larue mount over the $30 YHM?

KAC also makes a bipod adapter. $34 at Operation Parts

LaRue uses one quick release lever to put on and remove.
YHM requires an allen wrench for installing and removal.

I opted for the $30 YHM adaptor
I carry an allen wrench in my Tangodown pistol grip.

Agreed, the LaRue bipod adapter is the obvious choice, especially for the LaRue rail.

I used the YHM 1 time on a Troy rail. I put it on and then removed it and it damn near took all the finish off my rail. I would even pick the ARMS over the YHM. But i go Larue all the way..

Putting a YHM bipod mount on a LaRue rail is like putting a Sparco radio in a Maybach

Look at my picture...there is probably a LaRue bipod mount somewhere there.

Nice looking set up!

What kind of drum magazines are those?

I have a YHM on my set up and it works great for me. I leave the mount on all the time and just remove the bipod if I need o "Lighten the load". If I had a need to quickly install or remove the bipod I would probably take a hard look at the LaRue mount though....

A beta C-mag.  It is only for range use.  In the real world I would use an a 30.

I have both the ARMS and the KAC.  Both are great.  I'll give the nod to the ARMS though because it doesn't use the sling stud type of attachment.

While we are speaking of Harris Bipods which one do you guys recommend. I am leaning towards the S BRM. Sorry to hijack this thread.

My Oly arms which is very much like the YHM scratched the shit out of my rail and required me to file it down to better fit. It also left large set screw holes from being tightened down.

Here is my Larue/Harris setup. I dont know the harris model# but its the shortest one with notched legs and a swivel

I have 2 SBRMs (6-9"), one on my Predator Pursuit and another on my AR10.  They are great for bench shooting, shooting in short grass, off the hood of a vehicle, etc.  For anything else I would look for a model with more height adjustment.

I have a YHM on my SR15 and really like it. Tough piece and doubt it'll come loose and it won't fall off even if it did. Super sturdy.

Geez... you put a YHM piece on your SR15! You need to swap that out for a KAC unit.

Not being a smart ass but what makes the KAC one better? From the looks of the KAC one it has a very small attachment point whereas the YHM one extends the length of the mount. Again not being smart, I just want to know as I am facing the same choice, and want it to be an intelligent one. Thanks.

I started this build with a YHM adapter. After using an A.RM.S. on my SPR, decided I wanted a QD adapter on this build too. I chose the LaRue. Very happy with my decision.
