Its been out for awhile, and works well. There are two sizes, and its a matter of what you are looking to do with them.
I throw a few of them in my equipment bag when I'm teaching AR15 courses. It allows shooters to try different options with slings, with or without a rail. Here are a couple pictures of the smaller one on a Noveske N4 basic carbine.
