Don't know what brand of barrel you've got, but if it's one of the standard brands, and the bolt head is from one of the major outfits, 999,999 out of a million will headapace OK. If the barrel and/or bolt are an off brand. it's anybody's guess. Me? I have Colt GI issue bolt heads in all my ARs, bought used from an outfit in Arkansas for $15 apiece complete w/ extractor assy, ejector assy, and compression rings. Every one of them has checked out OK in both Rock River and Bushmaster barrels. All I do to them is replace the extractor spring w/a heavy duty job from Wolff Gunsprings. Why used GI bolts? Because I consider them better made and heat trated than the aftermarket commercial jobs, and I'd rather have a used Colt (or GI contractor) piece than a new commercial bolt, which might or might not have been properly heat reated. But that's just my nuttiness[:D] BTW, why do you need a new bolt in a nearly new AR? |

BTW, why do you need a new bolt in a nearly new AR? I was waiting for that question. I don't really need one but $hit happens. And when it does, it's too late to start asking questions. Best to get the answers now. I have a RRA and Bushmaster. I thank all for the info. |

That's why I've got two apare bolt assys in my parts box, and a spare firing pin for all four of my ARs, even tho in 35+ years of AR ownership I've never needed a spare firing pin. |
