I pretty much have my first build finished and last week I put my BCG and CH in. When I cycled it it would cycle as should. Id pull the trigger and hold it down while charging the weapon and let off the trigger to reset and pull again. Everything worked correctly. Now when I charge the weapon it locks the bolt back everytime when it should go forward. I have a BAD device on it but its been on it the whole time. Is there something Im missing?

Do you have an empty mag inserted when this is happening? If so, that's what it's supposed to do.

If you have an empty mag in it will obviously lock back.  If not, start by taking the BAD off.  If you still have a problem then you may have a problem with the spring that keeps the bolt hold open from engaging when there isn't an empty mag in the gun.  If you remove the upper completely and push the bolt hold open back and forth there should be spring tention there keeping it down out of the path of the bolt when there is not magazine inserted.

Does it do the same thing if you don't hold the trigger back while charging the weapon?

It might me the magazine, I was pretty sure I had a magazine in it before but maybe I'm wrong. I did have a magazine in yesterday, I'll check when I get home.

My boss called me up one day at work and apparently he was hyperventilating because his new rifle was doing the exact same thing. I asked him if he had an empty mag in the rifle as the bolt catch will lock it back when the mag is empty and after a few "do you really think I am that stupid!?" comments I heard him drop the mag and stroke the charging handle followed by a moment of silence.
I almost died laughing

Or you could read the manually on how the gun actually works.....
