While Assembleing my second Lower, I noticed the the bolt catch is no springy like it should be.  I seems as though the spring and detent are stuck in the compressed position.  The blot catch is kinda loose.  However, when I put a mag in the well the bolt catch sure appears to be working.  I have not had an upper on this yet.

Is this something that I NEED to take back apart and fix or will it likely not cause any problems?

I once read in some instructions that it was a good idea to take the appropriate size drill bit and just clean out many of those little holes ?

You did lube it , right ?

God bless

Any possibility that you put the disconnecter spring in that hole? I had a friend make that mistake and he actually put the large end of the disconnecter spring outward. Once the release was depressed it forced the large end of the spring in to the hole and the result was as you described. I suppose a hole with flashings in it could cause the release to catch in the same manner.
