| I have a brand new DPMS AR. The factory D&H 30rd mag works flawlessly... Locks the bolt back every time, no matter what. I've bought 2 ProMag blued steel 20rd mags and they'll lock back the bolt about 50% of the time, the follower is just too loose. I also just got a new PMAG GEN M3 10rd mag that absolutely will NOT lock back the bolt... Not with the charging handle, not by firing, it simply cannot do it. With the ProMag it seems my bolt catch lever on my gun doesn't protrude far enough out to catch the follower - But with the PMAG that isn't the case at all... if you push on the rear of the follower with your thumb it catches on something inside and just stick down, which is exactly what it does in my gun when the bolt travels over it to the rear. Don't know what to do. I thought PMAGs were supposed to be the great and maybe they are and my gun is just picky? New bolt catch? |

Promag doesn't have the greatest reputation. Their magazines have been horrible in my Sig handgun, I've never tried their AR mags though.
I would see if Magpul would replace your 10 rounder, the follower shouldn't be sticking like that. Your bolt catch is probably fine if your D&H magazines have been locking the bolt back okay. |
