Anyone know where I can locate some bonded 5.56 or 9x19 rounds? I have looked but haven't found any distributers. Even Ammoman didnt have any on his web site. If you have any, where are you getting them? I would prefer Federal TRU or Remington Golden Sabre....Any info would help greatly.

For pistol ammo, the following bullets have bonded cores:

- Speer GoldDots
- Winchester Ranger T
- Federal Tactical
- Remington GoldenSabre (the bonded models; the common ones are NOT bonded)

Of these, the easiest to get are the excellent GoldDots, which are top performers in calibers of 9mm and larger.  The Win and Fed offerings are LEO only, and as such, are very difficult to get.  The bonded GSs are also LEO only, but I've seen them mixed with the standard GSs occasionally, so you may find some somewhere.  However, the GS bullet doesn't consistantly pass FBI or IWBA-type testing protocols unlike the other three brands listed here.

For rifle, you want to avoid the awful-performing TRU loads.  The Federal Tactical loads (loaded with Trophy Bonded Bear Claw [TBBC] bullets) are what you want, but these are super-expensive and quite rare.  You can get the same bullet (in 55gr only) in the Federal Premium line.

Wow. You never cease to amaze, Troy. After I bought my M9 I bought lots of commercially availible defensive ammo to check and see which works the best for me and my gun. I have a bunch of Speer 115grn and 124grn 9mm in the standard pressure loadings. These have bonded cores?!?! I liked them, but not as much as the 124 grn Corbon +P...Could the standard Speer gold dot be counted on to pass through a windshield better than a Hydrashok, Golden Saber or my beloved Corbon's? If so, I think I will buy some more Gold Dots in the +P 124grn loadings. My local gun store has some Federal 55grn Trophy Bonded Bear Claw rounds for 12.00 bucks a box...I think I will grab some....I think a magazine loaded with bonded rounds would be a prudent choice.

The best GD loads are the 147gr (standard pressure), followed closely by the 124gr +P.  The 124gr standard pressure is also good from a 4.5" or longer barrel, but doesn't quite make it from shorter barrels.  There are almost no loads in the 115gr or ligher category that pass FBI and/or IWBA testing requirements.

You can get all the Winchester RA9T 147 grain on the net you want.  Its not cheap but easliy available and its the best performing 9mm load made.  Much less blast and recoil than the higher pressure loads yet still outperforms them.

Yes, I found them locally*on sale, I might add* and I also found some at another gun store in Sioux Falls, SD.*Gary's Gun Shop*Other than that, I haven't seen them. I bought the entire 160 rounds my gun store had for 12.00 a box. Not bad. Not bad at all....

The only 115 gr. 9MM I am aware of that meets FBI and IWBA requirements is the all-copper Barnes XPB.
