I know this has probably been brought up a million times but here it goes again. I'm using boretech cleaning carbon remover. I have a geissele 11.5" barrel with a hurwx suppressor. The crown has a massive build up of carbon that I didn't see until now. I scrapped a decent amount with a brass pick but now I'm down to the crown and I'm not trying to damage it. I've let it soak in the bore cleaner and I still can't get the crown completely carbon free.

I used red loctite to keep the flash hider on so taking it off and getting it that way is not an option. Any help would be absolutely phenomenal.

For red loctite, a torch would take it right off. The only other thing I can think of would be soaking it in the new Breakthrough suppressor cleaner type stuff.

Heat that muzzle device to ~500° F and it'll release the Loctite, spin the MD off with a wrench.

Maybe try some of the suppressor sauce, let the muzzle end, including the crown and barrel end soak(immersed) for the recommended three hours and flush with carb/brake cleaner.

Try the BIRCHWOOD CASEY Lead Remover & Polishing Cloth. It takes some elbow grease, but works. My crowns look brand new when I use this cloth.

I use q-tips to really get in there. The boretech is not just a bore solution and you can use it anywhere on the rifle including the bcg and crown. I would get their specific carbon killer, put it on a qtip and let it soak a bit then it should wipe off.

Oh I have that, and I tried it. I even let it soak. It's like one with the barrel. I have brass picks, and the only way I removed a lot of the carbon was picking it off with the brass picks. However now I'm down to some of the metal and I'm not wanting to damage the crown by accidentally digging into it, and then causing baffle strikes in the suppressor and going through all of that.
