| I have been using Hoppe's 9 nitro for years but now I am running low. What type of Bore Cleaners have you used with good results. I also use Hoppes BR copper remover and have had average results. I don't want something too aggressive, but I would like to hear from all of you. |

They all work well, especially if your bore is chrome-lined. Good 'ol Hoppes #9 works well and is cheap. If you want a little better (and more expensive) cleaner, go with something like Shooters Choice, Butch's Bore Shine, Montana X-treme, RB-17, J-B Bore Cleaner, J-B Bore Brite Paste, etc. For copper removal, Sweet's 7.62 is pretty unbeatable, but there are others like Shooters Choice Copper Remover, etc. Then there are others among us who just use CLP, i.e. FP-10 (my favorite), Breakfree, Militec (Some will argue that this isn't truely a CLP), etc. Hope this helps. Edited to say: Mpro7 also works very well. |

My preference is Shooter’s Choice Bore Cleaner. I use Sweet’s upon occasion, but chrome plated AR’s just don’t seem to develop much of a copper problem. Note that Sweet’s is very aggressive. As far as abrasives go, I prefer Remington Bore Cleaner simply because it’s a liquid and easier to apply than paste-type abrasives. |

I also like Hoppe's #9 and really like the Bore Tech products.Butches Bore Shine is also very nice stuff. But I must say most of the time I just use my FP-10 clp. Raymond |

As stated many time before: Sweets 7.62, as my bore cleaner, SuperTech 2000 carb-cleaner (from Walmart) for ridding and rinsing the Sweets away, as it IS serious stuff and CLP, preferably Break-Free are all I use for cleaning firearms. Chrome-lined, chrome-moly or stainless-steel high dollar Krieger barrels, this combo works. ARs, M1s, M1As, AKs, Remington 700s or pistols as long as you have a bore guide and a couple Dewey rods, your set. Mike |
