I have an XM16 upper (no FA or deflector) on top of a STAG lower.

I'm seeing the wear marks of the brass ejecting... it appears that the case is coming out, swinging 180deg, hitting the upper and then landing about 5oclock., some 6ft away.

Reason I say this is cause I am getting brass 'nicks' on the upper where the FA would be on an A1/A2.

Most of what I shoot is Wolf, but I did start shooting my own handloads recently.  The brass looks good WRT pressure signs.... is there an issue with the ejector I need to look at?

there is a brass deflector on the M16/A1 uppers, it's just smaller. The small raised shelf at the rear of the ejection port in where the brass should be hitting if it all. As long as ejection is positive I don't see a concern.
