Firing Ruger SR 556 and S&W M&P 15 today for the first time. Got one box of Federal 55 gr. and one box of Black Hills 55 gr.  Got plenty of China Sport left over from I don't know when. What do I need to use as break in before going to Wolf on both of these?

If they are new, make sure you clean them including the chamber with a GI chamber brush.  While I don't shoot Wolf, my friends who do usually shoot some quality brass cased ammo for a couple of hundred rounds before going to Wolf.  I don't think any break in is really needed, but a good cleaning prior to shooting can help reduce stuck cases.  Shoot some of your brass rounds first, then try the Wolf.

Use full-power ammunition - good quality fairly hot .223 or full power 5.56mm - when breaking in ANY new rifle.  Manufacturing leaves mill marks, sharp edges and other problems that can cause actions to slow down or catch, and using good ammo helps smooth those things down well.  You may even notice a difference in how the gun operates after 100 rounds or so-some people report a noticeable smoothing of both the trigger and the action after that small number of rounds.  But whether you notice it or not, the gun is "knocking off the high spots" and generally settling itself in during your first several hundred rounds, and that will make it much more functional with lower-powered ammunition.

And clean the BE-GEE-ZUS out of the thing on a regular basis!  Those "high spots" are going somewhere, and you don't want metal bits and filings hanging around inside the gun, wearing in spots that don't need wearing in.
