Ol' Dumba** here went to change out his triggerguard (heck, I've done 3 before) and broke off one the ears on his lower.  Can this be epoxied or welded back?  Best way?

TIA

Seen some use JB Weld and then color it in.  Others seem to use the Magpul with integrated trigger guard.  Both would be my suggestion.

Or the Stark grip will cover it up.

wow..cant believe ppl still do this. oh well. There are grips that will cover that up. Next time, just take your time. Pinch the roll pin a bit, put a taper on it, lube up the pin real good and "TAP" it in and support the bottom ear with a piece of wood. Take my suggestions and you wont break an ear off. Ive built 20+ ARs and never once broken any.

I have done it before too. I covered it with a stark grip and it looks just fine. plus the start is pretty comfy.

If you use JB weld or something let me know how it goes. I will locate my photos of my with the stark and post them for you to see

Get a new stripped lower for $60 and never look back.

What he said. Then you can send me the old one for proper disposal.

I've always wondered.. since that ear is obviously vulnerable to that happening, why does that one get the roll pin while the more supported hole gets the spring-loaded detent pin?

It is that way so when the guard is dropped when wearing gloves, your firing hand will retain the guard and keep it from swinging or getting in the way.  If it was the other way, the guard would get in the way, possibly interfering with mag changes.
