I just bought the 22lr conversion that came with 2 extra magazines from Brownells.  When I took it to the range, I had a tough time getting the conversion to go in far enough to allow the back of the reciver to reclose to use it.  My friend  and  I took turns inserting and then pulling out the conversion, each time we were able to get it to almost clear when closing the reciever.  Once I got it to go all the way in, we wondered if it would ever come back out again.  But after firing about 50 rounds through it.  (don't even try remington it does not work), I decided it was time to convert it back to a 223.  When I opened the bolt, it came right out.

Think I should contact Brownells about this?  Or keep trying it when the weather clears up?

Thanks guys in advance.

Sometimes the rails are a little wide, or the chamber insert needs a little honing.
Break down the unit to see how far the chamber insert goes onto the chamber.
Look where the rails pass just along the right upper wall below the port, and 180 degrees opposite to see if there are rub marks.
If it goes in easily now , the problem is solved.
If there's binding of the rails, I'd send it back.

Clean your 223 chamber before you insert the 22 lr bolt, if you got it to fit and come out easy then dont mess with it.
a snug fit is better than a loose fit that will cause light primer strikes.
