The classic .22lr scope may be the Leupold VX-1 2-7x33.
The rimfire version has parallax set for 60 yards rather than the longer setting for centerfire. VX-1 and VX-2 scopes for rimfire and centerfire are actually identical internally. The front external ring can be unscrewed. Under it is another threaded ring with slots. That ring can be screwed in and out to adjust for parallax. It is adjusted one way for rimfire and another way for centerfire. That's the only difference. VX-1 scopes have a $50 rebate right now, so the scope will be well under $200. This is an incredibly light in weight scope with very good performance at its price point. Hard to beat. There is also an even lighter 28mm objective version if you really want to keep it slim and light. I have several .22lr rifles and most wear a 2-7x Leupold. |

That would be the 10 ounce 2-7x33 Leupold. Weaver is heavier at the same power model, but better than most. |

| My brother gave me a BSA 6-18x40 sweet 22 scope he bought awhile back on sale for like $60 that he never used. I will slap it on my 10/22 for now. Anyone know how long I can expect a scope like that to last? All my other guns have leupold scopes on them so I am not familiar with BSA other than they are low quality. Being that it's on a 22 maybe it will work until the one I want goes on sale. |
