I know this has probably been discussed here before but I'm having an issue with said parts getting caught between lower receiver and bolt and thus causing a problem with bolt going into battery all the way. My question is this, If I remove these will the firearm still work properly? As far as I can tell, the retainer and retainer spring do nothing more than hold the Buffer assembly and Action spring in place for takedown. Am I correct in this assuption? Tanx Steve

Sounds like your extension tube isn't 'timed' correctly, but yes you're correct - running the gun without the retainer won't hurt a thing.

Thanks, that's what I was thinking but just wanted to make sure. Just gotta watch out for the Buffer and Action Spring on take-down...Steve
