I am planning on getting a newer Colt M4 stock and I'm wondering what other stocks will fit on the Colt tube.

I now have an SBR mutt, Colt lower, LMT upper and RRA M4 stock. I like the RRA stock I have and generally use it pulled all the way out. I assume the Colt tube is a little shorter than the RRA tube, is this correct?

I am in the process of putting together an M4 that I would like to be all Colt, except for some little things like Magpul trigger guard and a different grip. I may want to change to a Magpul stock later on and just want to know what my options are with the Colt tube.

So what can you tell me about my options.

Thanks all

Colts, of course.  Crane/LMT SOPMOD and clones and VLTOR stocks all fit the milspec (Colt) buffer tubes nicely.

I really like the look of the Magpuls and would like to get one down the road sometime, will it fit?

Looking at the Magpul stock kit, it states that it comes with the "M9" buffer tube, so without knowing for sure, I'd guess it has its own buffer tube.

Mongo is correct (as usual ).

The MagPul uses a proprietary buffer tube that is unique to MagPul. The good news is that if you buy a MagPul stock the buffer tube assembly comes with it, so there is nothing else to buy

AHHH CRAP!

I was looking for the easy way out by just being able to slide on a new stock.
Oh well, no big deal, pretty easy to replace a buffer tube as well.

Thanks alot guys.
