I am new to the website and I am building my first ar (so please excuse me if I posted in the wrong area)
I am afraid I may have made a dumb mistake. I have a S&W lower with a BCM 16" standard mid upper on the way (shipped today frm Bravo). I have a H2 upper in hand but after researching I am afraid it might be to heavy and not let the rifle cycle properly. Can someone please give me some advice on what I should do? Or is the H2 ok? If I need to order another buffer I want to do so asap so I can get it out to the range and enjoy it. Thanks in adavace for any help I can get |

I emailed BCM with a similar question and they told me it would probably work.
That said––I ended up not getting the BCM upper and got a DD, however I kept the Spikes heavy buffer. It will not cycle with .223 ammo but it works great with 5.56. I know that it's not the same situation you are in, but buffers are pretty cheap. So you may just want to try it with some 5.56 and .223 and see what happens. |

I had tried my standard carbine, H, and H2 buffers with my midlength carbine with Colt full auto BCG, standard carbine action spring, with several kinds of military surplus ammo and all my noted buffers works OK.
I'm currently running my H buffer with my middy without any problems. Try the buffer that you have with your particular ammo and see if it would work, if not change to the buffer weight that works (or try different ammo). |
