I'm swapping out my Colt 16" carbine upper for a BCM 16" mid length and want to make sure the H buffer that's already in the lower will work fine after the swap?  I probably should have asked before I put in the order but who has patience these days?  I've been wanting to do this for quite a while.

You will be just fine.  16" midlengths love the H.  Just got back from the range with mine about 15 minutes ago, and I think I have all my buffers sorted out, and all is right with the world.
