I currently have a 10.5" upper sitting on top of a stock LMT lower.  It has been 100% reliable thus but.  But I'm wondering if the weight of my buffer should be left alone or changed.  Does anyone know if the buffer on a 10.5" upper needs to be heavier than stock?

If it works. Leave it as it is.

if it works leave it. but i use a 9mm buffer on my 11.5'' upper to slow down the cycle. they say is helps on the wear and tear of the lower

My LMT 10.5 does not like the H2 unless I am shooting milspec ammo.  With 223 american eagle it will not lock the bolt back all the way on the last round.  It will however chamber ever round.  I think I am going to try a H buffer soon.

LMT 10.5" uppers have slightly smaller gas ports than most other 10.5" uppers.
This is so they run good with a can on them.
This also precludes the use of heavier buffers or LMT's enhanced carrier as either of these slow down the un-lock time and that's NOT desireable with such a short dwell time that 10.5" uppers have.
If it works good, leave it alone.

What are the differences between the 2 types of 9mm buffer?
