Can't seem to find any printed info. on this...
For what weapons were the different buffers (H1, H2, H3) designed for?  Is it based on barrel length?

Normally the shorter barrel the heavier the weight, or if you have a very shot out barrel that has some gas port erosion.
Some people also like heavier buffers to lessen the recoil that is felt.

I have run everything from a standard to an MGI RR buffer which is the heavest you can find.  All work fine in my M4 14.5" barrel, but if shooting dirty ammo I will start seeing short stroking after a few hundred rounds with the MGI, then just put the lighter buffer in.

Good info here:

I am building a 10.5" SBR.  Have not decided on DI or piston yet.  My gunsmith is building my lower while waiting for the paperwork.

Seems most people running 10.5" piston guns are using the H2, but Ken Elmore suggests an H3 for DI 10.5" Colts.  Anyone know why this might be the case?

(My application will be for suppressed semi-auto fire only, and I am leaning towards DI just 'cause I can't seem to justify the $1.6K LWRC is asking for their upper).
