Is there a source where I could get just some of the tungsten weights that are used in buffers?
I don't see a point in replacing a whole buffer when I can just push a roll pin out of mine and change out the steel weights for tungsten ones. I cannibalized my AR-10 carbine buffer of its tungsten and dropped them in my Ar-10 rifle buffer and went from 5.5oz to about 8. I'd like to find a few more so I can make the carbine operational again and possibly play with the rifle buffer weight more. Thanks |

Try here: McMaster-Carr Or, check your local fishing supply store for tungsten sinkers - they come in many sizes. |

Just buy the complete buffer assembly. Quick, easy, and you won't have to hassle looking for the parts. I have never seen internal replacement parts for buffers available anywhere. I'm sorry but I don't see the reasoning behind paying $120 for a buffer when 5-10min and $12 will yield me the same result.
