Hello,
I purchased a generic standard length receiver extension, buffer, and spring for my build. Compared to a Rock River A2 rifle I've used the spring in my build makes a heck of a lot of noise when I cycle the rifle as it slides on the receiver extension. So I was planning to order a new extension and spring from Rock River for my build. My question is would I need to order a Rock River buffer also, or are they all the same?
Thanks,
Ken

The buffer you have should be just fine.  FWIW, a bit of clp should cut down the noise.

collapsible stock has different buffer than a full rifle stock extension tube.

if you have short tube, you should get a short buffer.. obviously the short buffer works in full length tube.

No it doesn't.

There are quite a few different buffers out there, they don't even come close to all being the same.  To simplify things though, for the standard AR15, you have carbine buffers and rifle buffers.  Carbine buffers should only be used in carbine buffer tubes.  Rifle buffers will only work in rifle buffer tubes.
