I've been getting lowers like a madman since the AWB went away, and now have a 16" M4, 14.5 M4 (with FH to 16"), a BM Dissy,  a XM177 type in the works, and a few other lowers.  The 20" and Varmiters don't really do anything for me, but how many M4s do I really want?  I read a little about
SPRs, SAM-Rs, and REECE, but really don't have a clear idea of what they are.  I'll probaly SBR one or or two lowers, but might be interested in the 18" (?) SPR...if I knew what they were.

Any suggestions...more interested in the military type stuff, than say hunting or pure target shooting.

How about a 20" Gov profile A4?    Put on a full length FF rail and a scope or dot of some sort.

If you are looking into the SPR thing, I would take a look at a 16" midlength with the 9 inch Larue, a Vltor or LMT(Crane) stock, do the Harris bipod with ARMS #32 and for optics/buis's do either an ACOG or Leupold MRT scope-buis's--Troy or KAC(600m)

Denny'sguns has a nice set up on the EE, BUT CHECK WITH GANDRTACTICAL, HE MAY BE GEARING UP WITH SOME BUILDS.

Do what I'm doing:  Get a 7.5" upper, and permanently attach an American Manuf. XXX Suppressor.  The XXX can is 10" long, so you you'll be able to use the upper on any gun without worrying about SBR registration.  Sure, the can will cost you $200 to register, but you'll have a pretty cool upper when you're done.  Add an Olympic Firsch handguard and a front grip and you'll duplicate what I'm in the process of building.  For grins, I'm having "auto" engraved where it should be on my lower, as well as refinished (also by A.M.).

options:

*  super light weight carbine
*  a weight compromised carbine
*  a4
*  small SPR
*  mid sized SPR
*  huge SPR

those are the guns i think of off hand that have merrit..

Yes, in our little state of WA, you can own a suppressor, but you can't legally use it.

Thanks for the replies, I think I'm leaning toward the SPR...Once I actually figure out what it is...

I'll have to wait a little bit, but getting kind of excited about an SBR
