Hi, I am new to the AR world but stumbled upon a Gen 1 Noveske lower with a PSA LPK so I thought I'd go for it. I'm looking for an all around AR with a 16" or 18" barrel. I probably will only target shoot but would like to have something to take to the woods and "varmint hunt" if I wanted to. My goal is to keep the rifle as lightweight as possible.
My question is: I like the idea of matching (shades of black, brand) upper and lower but cant afford a built Noveske upper. I have heard good things about the Noveske rail (NSR?), especially that it is lightweight. I thought I could grab a DD lightweight barrel and the Noveske rail and put something together that was quality and looked overall like a Noveske rifle. Anyone have a parts list for what I'm talking about? Does it make sense? Or I could just buy a complete PSA upper and be done with it. I appreciate any input. Thanks. |

The Noveske rail takes a special wrench for their barrel nut. You either have to buy their wrench, or a 1 1/16 crowfoot wrench.
Some guys have had difficulty getting things to line up properly . You will also need a upper receiver vice block, or reaction rod. Plus a torque wrench. I personally wouldn't buy a PSA upper. And I'd shitcan their FCG. They aren't known for quality. One person mentioned BCM. They make a very good product. |
| Thanks for the replies. I would probably not trust myself to put together the upper. Maybe the lower. I have a line on a Noveske Vltor stripped upper. If I go for it I guess I'm committing to that route. Part of the fun for me is to try to figure this out (cheaply)... we'll see how that goes. |

Sorry but Cheap and Noveske Do not go in the same sentence. Aint nothing and I do mean nothing with the Noveske name on it Cheap. Not trying to rain on your parade but as anyone around here can/will tell you. |
