Ok , I have some time ...I ordered a PSA black Friday special ...PSA flat upper ( middy) FN 16" barrel with a2 ( will take awhile to ship I'm sure )
1. My initial plans were to use a Midwest industries gen2 SS , but i have seen mixed reviews on MI free float tubes - not sure of they were the gen2 models ...Now I'm not sure - anybody use this ?? I wanted a tube that comes as close to muzzle as I can get ( love the look) I will run a flip front sight at the front ( another reason for a long tube - sight radius ) What other free float tubes are out there , I would like a tube with a front sight built in - seen a couple but not sure who makes one ... my plan is to remove the a2 sight either by a gas block swap , or more than likely just cut the top of sight off with a Dremel and paint the area with heat resistant black paint . 2. My build list so far Dpms stripped lower - a brand new lower that I purchased off a guy who bought it a long time ago ( 8-10 years ) he could not remember , still in wrapper PSA 16" premium FN barrel upper With TROY medieval muzzle break / anybody use this ?? PSA gen 2 LPK w/MOE grip ( gen 2 small parts black oxide coated ) Spikes h2 heavy buffer PSA tube ( already had buffer and tube ) I have no spring yet or a stock - any idea on a spring This may not seem like it , but I'm trying to build the best rifle I can afford . My research on these FN barrel said they were very good quality ... Am I over thinking things , or will I just be putting to much money in? ( with regards to free float ) I want a short to mid range (max 400 yds) ? Plan to run a scope on a QD base - want flip sights |
