Hello all I was directed over here from glocktalk.com to gain some knowledge from the pros as they said it! Anyways I am gonna do an AR-15 m4gery build here soon. I have decided to do a CMMG build. I'm gonna buy a CMMG stripped lower and use their LPK. I want to use the CMMG buffer tube assembly and use a Magpul collapsible stock. Now here comes my question. I am gonna use a CMMG flat top upper. Is it cheaper to buy the whole completed upper then buy an aftermarket quad rail system? Or is it cheaper to buy a stripped barrel and add the receiver and bolt assembly and then the quad rail you want? I am wanting to know because I'm not gonna use the stock hand guards so really I don't need them.

Thanks for any help!

Have you added the price of the barrel, handguards, BCG, sights, etc that you want and compared that total price to the price of a complete upper?

You're the only person who can answer your question right now.  We could do the math for you but you haven't told us exactly what you want.
