Nice. My oldest son who is 15 now helped me install a few triggers, scopes etc over the years and it is great quality time.

Mine helped me wash the packing oil off, and install the FF quad rail on mine a little while ago...he got mad when I went and test fired it without him though. I now owe him a trip to the range.

My son - 15 and daughter - 13 are probably the ONLY two kids in their entire school system (elementary, middle, high) that have helped build an AR lower. I believe they could both do it without my help on the next one.

We got his lower reciever done to his liking. Then the panic hit, before I got the mid length 1/9 5.56 barrel and BCG I had ordered late Nov..
Got everything else though.

So ours is on hold for a little while.

I could give him one of mine. But WE didnt build it.

Good job!

My 8 YO son loves our range trips. I got him his match 223 just before Christmas. He loves "ringing" the steel plates at 200 and 300 yards. I just have to keep him from going through ammo like he does with the 10/22.

We are heading to SD in spring for our 1st praire dog hunt.

I don't have any kids nor do I want any for a while (I'm 26) but I taught my girlfriend how to assemble a lower. I hope one day I'll be able to do the same with a kid of mine!

Looks like a great bonding experience.

I did the same with my son. My dad took me out shooting for the first time at 10 with a 22 pump.

Great job. My 4 year old daughter has been assisting with these projects for a year or two. As she gets older, the tasks I give her get more advanced. I've got a bunch of pictures somewhere of her cleaning the parts of Glock.

I saw a YouTube video of this girl - maybe 10 yrs old, strip and reassemble an AR lickety-split. Imagine the howls of "child endangerment" from the Lefties. Yep - I see this dad w. his boy - that girl - other kids with gun familiarity... It is not "twilight's last gleaming" by a long shot.

I will when I can find one at a reasonable price. I am still waiting on the spikes punisher stripped lower I ordered in MAY!

Nice, OP!

I would recommend safety glasses for the boy. Its a good habit to get into. You wouldn't want him to catch a detent to the eyeball.
