I want to build a .308 AR, and I found a reputable local shop selling matched Billet aluminum upper and lower sets for 389.00...but I never heard of the manufacturing company, Fredrick Firearms. I know there are not a lot of actual factories putting out their own lower, most are just one of the major manufacturers with a differant rollermark but I don't know if that holed true for .308 or billet recivers. It says they are DPMS compatable as far as parts go. Anyone heard of them? Do they look like rebrands? What quality are they?

Description from their site
Uppers in 6061-T6 Billet aluminum with 2 mil hard coat, lowers in 7075 billet aluminum with 1 mil hard coat. These are limited production to get the name out there. The bump is the deflector. The ones with a DC and the FA will be coming soon but more expensive. We just want the quality of this awesome product at a good price so that the regular hard working man can afford them. We only have 500 in stock and they will be numbered matching set. The value on these are double what we are selling them for and we anticipate that in a few years they will triple in value. The quality is that of LWRC or Christensen Arms.

I believe they are made by whoever makes the .308 sets for black sheep 6 tactical as well.  I have a set of them and they are excellent.  The fit and finish I thought was great and everything went together well.  I can tell you these are DPMS low pattern receivers.  I put an 18" Black Hole Weaponry Barrel on mine, PWS brake, Samson 15" rail, Geissele SSA-E, Magpul PRS, DPMS BCG, and I threw a Nikon M-308 on top. Enjoy the build.

Thanks To be honest I like the clean look without the dust cover/forward assist/shell deflector.  Mine ejects at the 4 o'clock position every time and I couldn't be more pleased with this build.

No issues with the build then? All parts and mags fit?  I did some a search and the BS6 5.56 had some early issues.

I had absolutely zero issues with this set, put it together with a CMMG .308 LPK and the Geissele trigger and everything went in just like it should.  Upper to lower fit is very snug.  I have used both gen 2 and gen 3 20LR Pmags in it with no issues.  I have about 300 rounds down range so far with zero FTF, FTE, etc.
