Hi, I'm new!

I just want to know if this is possible.  I've been looking at 2 ARs that I like, the M&P15 and a Bushmaster BCWA3F 16M4 (http://www.bushmaster.com/catalog_xm15_BCWA3F16M4.asp)

I can get both delivered for $910, all fees paid. hatI have no experience with ARs at all, but want to learn.  However I'm not sure I'm up for a total all out assembly.  hinking.gif  I'm hoping to spend no more than $700-$750 Max

Any suggestions would be helpful.   Thanks.

I BOUGHT A STAG ARMS LOWER AND LEFT HANDED UPPER RECIEVER SEPERATE FROM TWO DIFFERENT SITES ONLINE AND IF I REMEMBER CORRECTLY I SPENT A TOTAL OF 800 BUCKS FOR IT SHIPPED. THE UPPER CAME WITH A FLIP UP REAR SIGHT INSTEAD OF THE CARRY HANDLE. FOR MAGS AND OTHER ACESSORIES I GOT CHEAP AT LOCAL GUN SHOWS. ANOTHER GOOD PLACE TO SHOP IS ON THE EQUIPMENT EXCHANGE ON THIS SITE.
P.S. WELCOME TO THE SITE!

Can I build as good a rifle for less money, delivered?  If so, please suggest what I buy.

if you can get BOTH for $910, get EM, NOW! if thats, "each", well, that still a pretty good price

you can build just a good a rifle for less, but it wont come w/ any factory warranty as is of course; easiest build w. quality stuff: complete Stag M4 upper (w/ BUIS) for $500 and a complete AR lower (~$250) from the EE--snap em together

Or buy a stripped Stag lower $100, and a Lower Parts Kit ($40-$60), and a stock of your choice with buffer and spring ($35-$70 depending on what you want), and assemble it yourself in 30 min or so, and save another $50-$80.

Thanks everyone.  I was looking at the CMMG deal.  Are those bargain bin AR's customizable ?  Meaning if I want to change parts out at a later date, would they be a good base to start with?

Yes.  You can do quite a bit without tools.

With common and a few speciality tools, you can completely disassemble/reassemble and swap out numerous parts.

Add bolt and lower assemblies of your choice...

The main question is...  Do you want to buy or build?  If it was my 1st, I might just go ahead and buy an assembled one.

If you want to build, you can also get one of the assorted kit guns pretty cheaply.  Then there's always the bargain bin that a lot of folks on this site talk about (I don't have one):

Buy a decent lower for $100-150, (I got a Spike's locally for $140 OTD).
Buy a complete rifle or car kit from Del-ton for $465 + s/h.

Spend 30 minutes or so snapping it together.  If you've got 750 to spend, then you still have money left for ammo :D

If you are going budget and like a fixed stock, the Cavalry Arms CAV-15 MkII stripped lower for $125, or 3 or more for $105. Ameetec has a complete CAV-15 lower for $180. This is a thermoplastic lower with stock and pistol grip built-in.  Current available colors are OD green, black and blue. They make these lowers in many colors: red, yellow, blue, black, purple, Moonglow (Rare), gray, OD green, electric green, Dark Earth, and I've probably still missed a few. I have one and these are nice and light lowers. Warranty is the best; if you break it for any reason, a replacement is $30.

For a budget gun:

CAV-15 complete lower: $180 + complete upper = finished gun
