I want to build an A4, of course colt doesn't have one with bayo and flash hider. Is it better to go with a Match HBAR, add FSB with bayo lug and thread and add flash hider, build one up from as many Colt parts as can be found, or how do you guys feel about a Knights SR-15 M5. They are supposed to be shipping in March, and at about $1550, including the M5 RAS, match trigger, sights etc. seems like a good deal.

Any thoughts?

Since you don't seem to be Hung up on one particular Brand , why not just
get a quality complete Lower and Stock of your choice , and have a custom upper
built just like you want it?

There are some fantastic barrels being made nowadays.

Cruise the Industry forum and EE ads.

Colt does have wht you're looking for, you just have to pay for it.

If the SR-15 is coming out in March though and it's what you want, go with it.

my A4gery consisted of a RRA stock, Colt barrel (1/7 c/l'd govt profile w/ lug and A2), CMT upper, Bushy carry handle, Superior Arms lower, DPMS LPK, Colt BCG

just frankengun it.  shop around the EE and be patient.  I built mine for about $600.

Although that doesn't sound like a bad deal on the SR15 if you include my KAC M5 w/ vert grip and enough panels to build a house I would say I had about $800 in the build....still much lower than the 1550 you'd be paying.  Shop the EE and build it!

I've got an MT6700 and I've been keeping an eye out for an A2 barrel.  I've seen my rifle for around $800-900 in the EE and the barrels for $200 or less.  I think for $1500 you could put together a Colt A4gery with the RAS and still have quite a bit left over towards an ACOG.
