I never cared much for the SPRs, but now I want one!

Can anyone point me to a thread, website, manuf, etc... that can get me going on what components make up an SPR.  Is there an "official" group of components that make up one? (barrel length, type of handguards, stock, Etc...)  Is there a retailer that sells SPR uppers?  It looks like ADCO makes a brake for them, but I dont know if they build a whole upper.

Thanks for any info.

Don't waste your time.  SPR's are worthless.  Pretty, but worthless.  GO 6.xx mm if you want a long range round.

Check out MSTN and JTAC Supply on the Industry board.  MSTN has his listed but if you IM JTAC he builds them also.  Another thing, the brake that ADCO has is just for looks.  This quote is from his website.... "The muzzle device sold by ADCO is a non-functional, decoration, and is NOT to be confused with the real thing. Its just for looks."  Both MSTN and JTAC can get an Ops Inc brake for you.

So basically, an SPR is a scrope sighted,  flat top upper, with a freefloat bbl and a  collapsable stock. An the obligatory rail system.

The muzzle thingee looks like Bushmaster "AK74" style muzzle brake.

Intresting.

Barrel length is 18" rather than 20" on the SPR.

WE BREAK IN OUR BARRELS AND ENSURE THEY WILL SHOOT FIVE SHOT SUB-MOA GROUPS PRIOR TO SHIPPING. TYPICALLY, THEY SHOOT MUCH BETTER THAN THIS.

WE ARE NOT LIMITED TO WHAT YOU SEE HERE. WE ALSO OFFER 6.8 SPC UPPERS AND N.S.W. 5.56MM RECCE CARBINE UPPERS. WE CAN BUILD WHATEVER YOU WANT, SO LONG AS YOU USE GOOD COMPONENTS.

I COULD BE MISTAKEN, BUT I DO BELIEVE WE ARE THE ONLY SOURCE FOR THE OPS INC 5.56MM MILITARY BRAKES. WE ARE MOST DEFINITELY THE ONLY SOURCE FOR THE OPS INC 6.8 SPC BRAKES.

MSTN has unreal customer service also.  He has answered at least 20 e-mails from me in the last 3 days always within an hour.

if you want the REAL DEAL SPR upper, NOONE but MSTN can provide you with the "official" group of components that make up the MK 12 MOD 0/1.  WES and Paul provide top quality gear AND customer service that is unmatched by anyone.  WES is highly knowledgeable and always has answers for even the stupidest of questions - i should know...i emailed him with one at least 3 times a day while my upper was being built!! [:D]  go with MSTN if you want one built to NSW Crane specs.  WES WILL HOOK YOU UP!! [;)]

Not to speak for ADCO, but I believe their SPR's are built by the armorer for CRANE. I don't think ANY other dealer on this board can say that...[;D]

What do one of these buggers run?  I know it is going to vary, but in general, for the entire package?

Thanks.

I can do a complete upper (no glass), depending on config and options, for between $1300 and $1800.

And I would need to add to that lower, stock, bipod, sight? Correct?

Wes, that's some beautiful stuff there.

I only wish I had the money to spend.  We just bought a house, and I need to buy things like carpet and countertops.  LOL!
